It's all in the details......................
Outdoor Weddings
The weather is hard to predict, but outdoor weddings are a huge trend for 2011 because a party in the outdoors is different, fun and relaxing. If it’s possible to make yours an outdoor wedding, than do it! However, it’s very important that you have a plan B, just in case the rain decides to bless your big day!
Blast From The Past
The past is back and all vintage ideas as well. Incorporating modern elements that have a historical past is a growing trend, which is very appreciated by everyone that participates in weddings with these types of ideas. Presenting your guests with party favors from historical brands, building the wedding theme around this concept, recycling and wearing your mother or grandmother’s wedding dress, incorporating your parents’ or grandparents’ wedding pictures into the décor, creating an atmosphere of nostalgic romance is always nice and very, very trendy these days.

DETAILS
Details are hardly overlooked but now they are more important than ever! No tiny detail should go unseen and everything should be planned right down to the last feature. If you don’t have time for details, there’s nothing like hiring a wedding planner to transform your wedding dreams into reality. The wedding cake table is a main focal point, the place cards should be original and personalized, the chairs should have a special touch, the wedding color palette should be very well thought out – basically, think about all the small details that will make a big difference.
5. And what should they always splurge on if they can?
This also depends on what is most important for the couple. This could be anything from the menu to the printed materials to the fashion! Whichever element a bride or the couple feels is most representative of them is likely the area that they should splurge in. Make sure your wedding is representative of you!

1.What are the 3 biggest trends in wedding décor that you're seeing for 2011?
Many of my 2011 brides are looking to combine traditional elements with the modern in order to incorporate the romanticism of classic weddings but make it more “of the moment” by adding trendy touches. Consider juxtaposing modern and traditional elements within all elements of your table décor. For example, sleek floral designs paired with monochromatic color schemes in a grand ballroom adds another dimension to the décor by being so unique.
2. Is there a cool way to integrate technology into your wedding besides the typical wedding slideshow?
Absolutely! I am beginning to see more and more weddings that are becoming all-encompassing, main stage events. In our premiere episode of the new season of My Fair Wedding, our crystal bride uses a sleek, white runway as part of her ceremony and has her bridesmaids walk down this aisle with a montage of fashion photo shoot images behind them. This took a standard wedding slideshow to a completely different level.
3. What color schemes are you seeing that you're really excited about?
Metallics are definitely the color of 2011 weddings! In the early planning processes, I’m seeing them used in floral arrangements, fashion, as well as linens and catering. This is a very fun color palate to use to add a nice pop of energy to your wedding.
4. Where can brides save money without looking cheap?
This subject tends to be very personal and unique to each couple. For some, they would rather focus on the d&ecaute;cor elements and “wow” factor of their reception so smaller elements related to the ceremony can be minimized. For others, this could mean minimizing three appetizer options to two instead or shortening the cocktail hours in between the ceremony and reception.

2011 Wedding Trends
Something Old and Something New are definitely part of 2011's Wedding Trends.
Going "green" will be even more popular.

Wedding Invitations:
In 2011, expect more contemporary and personalized wedding invitations-Mod, Nature, Vegas!-nothing is off limits. Expect the couple’s personality to really shine through. Damask and paisley will be popular patterns. Going "green" will be even more popular, using "online" or emailed save-the-dates, recycled paper, soy ink, etc.
You may also see a growing number of letterpress wedding invitations and RSVP postcards.
Visit our Premier Events site for some resources and ideas on invitations.
Wedding Cakes:
Cakes in 2011 will be of brightly colored fondant, creative designs, using lots of flowers. You will also see some very creative wedding cake toppers.

Wedding Colors:
Reds, yellows, and gray will be popular. Brown is on its way out. Black, white, and light green will still be popular. You will continue to see metallics used in a vintage way...you will see "more metallics and metal-inspired finishes — an Old World feel presented with a New World sensibility— gold leaf, silver leaf, bronze and copper combined with an underlying color of unexpected hue: turquoise, magentas, yellow, kelly green."
.
Wedding Decor:
2011 event decor trends include: New colors, beautiful table top decor, new linen textures, alternative centerpiece and feature table "Wow" factor options. One of the big trends for 2011 is creating effective minimalism using effective & well-placed design elements, effective floral statements, washes & patterns of lighting, & focusing the energy & design into the heart of the party.
Other resources tell us that wedding centerpieces will continue to be more contemporary. Centerpieces of branches, floating flowers, and candles will continue into 2011. Also look for other pops of color in hanging lanterns, table covers, and clothing accents (sashes, flowers pins, shoes, etc.).
Catering:
New catering trends for 2011 to consider for your wedding: Family Style Dining, Using foods from Local Farms, Tapas for appetizers or a meal, Deconstructed salads,Uncommon ingredients, Pasta, Nostalgic foods (including comfort foods & childhood favorites...hello mac and cheese!), Cupcakes & Candy, Colorful Wedding Cakes, and Architectural food.
Ultimately your 2011 is to be a reflection of you as a couple, your interests, and your personal tastes. It should also reflect your venue selection. So, have fun with it and don't stress too much over the details. Hire a competent wedding planner to help you with that so you can enjoy your event!
The color that’s “IN” this year is: purple.
This week I’d like to talk about overall design style: modern, traditional or eclectic. Even though each client has a very specific point of view on this issue, and I try to accommodate her taste, I find that there is one particular look more and more clients around the world are asking for, making it the current “IN” for everything from furniture to flowers.
I have had the pleasure of working with one designer I think is a genius floral architect by the name of Daniel Ost. I think he is brilliant with an eclectic look. I also had the pleasure in meeting Mr. Jeff Leatham in Paris. He is Mr. Modern himself with his amazing creations. However, when I did Ivanka Trump’s wedding, I was pleasantly surprised that this young beautiful New Yorker, loved a classic traditional look for her wedding.
